Hello and welcome! I am Laura, an artist and designer, based in Montpelier, Vermont.

With a background in fine art and textile design I began my design studio in the fall of 2009. I have been drawing and painting since childhood, inspired, in part, by two of my older cousins who are both talented artists. Throughout high school and college I naturally pursued my love of the arts but was never quite sure where my studio practices would lead me.

In 2007, after living with my husband in Belgium for almost two years, I decided it was time to head back home to pursue studies in textile/surface design at The Fashion Institute of Technology. After graduating, I quickly landed a job as a print designer but soon discovered that designing for the mass market was not for me. I longed for a more minimalist, non trend oriented approach to design. During a short stint as an intern for an invitation design studio, I knew I had found my niche.

I am thrilled to combine my long held appreciation for hand written correspondence with my passion for simple patterns, nature and color. Along with ready made paper goods, I specialize in creating wedding invitations and custom designs. I love working with clients to create unique and beautiful designs for life’s special occasions. You can choose a design I’ve already created or we can work together to create a one-of-a-kind design for invitations, announcements, personal stationery and more. I am passionate about helping you create your dream design, I look forward to discussing your project!

Always eco-conscious, lauramacchia is dedicated to using 100% post-consumer recycled card stock and envelopes and biodegradable packaging for all of the ready made paper goods found in the shop.
