recent work: custom letterpress wedding invitations

It’s a gray day here so I thought it would be nice to share these cheerful summer wedding invitations. The lovely couple were inspired by bright summertime flowers, particularly billy buttons, which the groom, best man, and groomsman will be wearing as boutonnieres. The illustration combined with the pop of yellow creates such a fun and casual feel- perfect for a Vermont lake house wedding.

introduction to letterpress

This past Sunday, I took part in an Introduction to Letterpress workshop at May Day Studio. Since starting my business and offering letterpress to custom design clients, I’ve been eager to take a workshop to at least get to know the basics (and get my hands dirty again). So after moving to Montpelier (already a year ago!) and discovering Kelly’s workshops, I knew this was the perfect opportunity.

Learning how to set type, lockup and print on a Chandler and Price Pilot and a Vandercook SP-15 was such a fun and inspiring experience. I went home with my first letterpress posters and personal stationery and an even deeper respect for the craft of letterpress printing. Thanks, Kelly!!!

recent work: custom letterpress wedding invitations

Today I’m excited to share another new custom job. This wedding suite was designed for a sweet couple getting married in June at the Lillian & Amy Goldman Stone Mill, part of The New York Botanical Garden. Featuring an original illustration of the stone mill and surrounding landscape, the invitation immediately gives guests a feel for the special location. I love how the centuries-old printing method emphasizes the historic character of the stone mill, creating truly unique invitations.

I’ve been admiring all of the pretty new spring arrivals at TRUNK, in Brooklyn. Must plan a visit next time I’m in town.

custom wedding sneak peeks

Hope everyone is having a great week. The weather here has been unusually warm and I am loving the breeze coming through the open window in my office!

This wedding season has been my busiest yet (yay!) and I’m so eager to share all the new custom work with you. However, at the moment it seems to all be in proofing or production stage, which means I don’t have full suites to share. So, until then, I hope you enjoy these little snapshots.
