A little break

Fred and I are heading to Europe today for a couple weeks, so I’ll be taking a short break from blogging.  Most of our trip will be in Belgium, enjoying the great company of our lovely friends and family.  Then, on the way home, we’ll be stopping over in Dublin for a little city trip.  I am so looking forward to it all!

Happy September, see you back here in a couple weeks! :)

Custom Guestbook

You might remember this lovely wedding invitation suite I shared last month.  Well, a few weeks ago I was asked by one of the bridesmaids if I could create a custom guestbook to match the invitations.  It would be bridal shower gift from all the bridesmaids.  Isn’t that a great idea?

It was such a wonderful project for me to be a part of, as I love seeing a design carried over to another medium.  The book is hand bound and the interior pages are 100% cotton.  The end sheets are 30% post consumer recycled content and match the navy blue on the invitations.

It is a beautiful book and it makes for a very sweet gift.  :)

What a brilliant collaboration.  Can’t wait to hear more…

A wedding at the sea

I recently designed this sea themed wedding invitation suite for clients getting married in Mexico.  The starfish drawing in sea green coupled with the sandy brown color for the wording looks so lovely.  I was also happy to hand line the envelopes with one of my favorite patterns.

Summer Streets!

For my fellow New Yorkers, if you have no plans tomorrow, don’t miss the final week of Summer Streets!  Park Avenue and connecting streets from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park are car free!  Fred and I went out last Saturday with our bikes and had a super fun time.  I highly recommend it!

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

I heart my Kanken!

These little Kanken backpacks are not only super cute but also very durable and functional.  They’re made by Fjällräven, a Swedish company based in the same small town in northern Sweden, where my sister-in-law is from.  She was there for the summer and when she told me she’d pick one up for me I was super excited.  Then she asked what color I wanted and that’s when I spent way too much time deciding which was my favorite among their large selection.  Good thing the final decision was left up to her!  When I received my Kanken last weekend, in the ‘graphite’ color above, I couldn’t have been happier.  Thanks, Jenny!

end of summer SALE!

I am happy to announce a big end of summer sale going on in my Etsy shop right now.  You’ll find a large selection of greeting cards and note cards all marked down 25%.  Please let your friends and family know, too.  Thanks and happy shopping! :)

As promised, here is a sneak peek of my latest project: the 2011 calendar!  I am so excited to be offering a calendar this year, with each month featuring a beautiful new botanical illustration.  It measures 5.5 x 8.5 and as always it will be printed on 100% post consumer recycled paper.

I plan to have these in the shop by early October so stay tuned for that or sign up for the mailing list here, to find out when it goes up!

Have a great weekend!

Business cards

I recently designed these classy business cards for a very sweet and talented artist based in Brooklyn.  I love how simple and clean they are and as always, these are printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper.

Into the Woods

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  Our mini camping trip was so wonderful.  It was great to be back at North Lake Campground, in the Catskills, where I went numerous times growing up.  It was fun to introduce it to Fred and we decided after staying only one night, that we’ll definitely be back!

Nothing beats the fresh air, a beautiful hike, campfires, eating s’mores and cozying up in a tent on a cool night.  Not to mention being completely disconnected from phone and internet.  It definitely allowed me to clear my head and get energized to start a new, productive week! :)
